What We Do
Northwest Addiction Services provides counselling and prevention services in Terrace. If you are concerned about your own or someone else's alcohol or drug problems call us at 250-638-8117 or 1-888-638-8117 for problem gambling support outside of Terrace. There is no cost to clients for our services as funding is provided by the Ministry of Health. Information is available on the effects of substance use and problem gambling. Confidential, individualized counselling/education is available for adults, youth and children whose life is or has been negatively affected by alcohol, drug use and/or gambling. Family, couple, and group counselling is offered when related to addiction issues.
Residential treatment and non-medical detoxification services are available for chemically dependent youth aged 12-19. Referrals are also made to detox, residential, or other specialized treatment centers for adults that desire a more intensive level of treatment.
We provide education presentations and activities geared toward increasing awareness about the harmful effects of drugs, alcohol and gambling.
Employment Opportunities
Northwest Addictions frequently has positions available for on-call Youth Residence Workers. We sometimes also have vacancies for support staff and addictions counsellors. We usually post these vacancies on the HRDC Job Bank. Your resume and cover letter may be mailed, emailed or delivered in person to our Terrace office.
