Hours:  PART TIME – 14-34 hours average per week (flexible schedule)

Currently, the position is set at 20 hours per week.

Shifts:  Days, Evenings (Weekend work may be required as well as the ability to work a flexible schedule)

Job Summary: Answering to Program Junior Manager, the Vocational Counsellor develops, implements, monitors and evaluates training plans in a variety of work settings designed to meet clients’ vocational, social and daily living goals.

At EmployAbilities, people supported within the program are matched with the needs of employers. On-the-job training is provided, along with regular follow-up meetings with employers to ensure success. Eventually, participants in the program are able to work independently, with natural supports.

EmployAbilities’ involvement and follow up is maintained regularly with the employer throughout employment, stepping in to assist whenever necessary, whether it’s teaching new skills, helping the worksite team learn about their new co-worker, or problem-solving with the participant and employer, support is provided by the program.

Through work experience programs and coaching, participants are supported to become successful and independent in their careers.
